Goa Gajah Temple Design

Goa Gajah Temple is one of the oldest temples in Bali which has the most phenomenal design and has a high historical value in Bali. The design looks phenomenal because it has a unique shape and is very much different from other temples in Bali. So don't be surprised if Goa Gajah Temple is a destination that has managed to attract the attention of many tourists.

Almost every day this temple is visited by tourists, both foreign and local tourists. This temple is surrounded by shady green trees, so the atmosphere is very cool and beautiful.

The Elephant Cave Area Temple

Visitors can explore the temple complex which consists of two main areas. The first area is located in the north which is a place for worshiping Hindu houses and the location of the existence of Shiva's teachings as seen from the presence of statues of Ganesha and Trilingga.

The second area is located in the south. The area called Tukad Pangkung is a place of worship for Buddhists. This area houses a Buddhist stupa in the attitude of Dhyani Buddha Amitabha. The three-pronged stupa is carved into the stone wall.

In addition, at the front of the temple there are also several statues such as the Hariti statue, the Ganesha statue, and the Giant statue. The tourists can also directly see the holy bathing pool in which there are two statues, namely the Widyadara and Widyadhari statues.

The Uniqueness of Goa Gajah Temple

The most unique thing about Goa Gajah fort is in its overall design. Like the entrance to the mouth of the cave which is only enough for 1 person, where carvings and 2 guard statues are outside the entrance and inside the T-shaped cave with a height of about 2 meters and a width of 2 meters.

On the left and right sides of the pavilion there are also niches that are thought to have been hermitages in ancient times. But now, tourists can sit or lie in that place. Finally, at the west end of the hall there is a Ganesha statue and at the east end of the hall there are 3 lingas.

The entrance fee to this temple is IDR 15,000 per person with IDR 5,000 parking ticket.
