If you are looking for a restaurant in Bali with a different concept, you can try to visit Mama San Bali. Mama San is a restaurant with a unique concept, which is similar in design to a warehouse and the interior is a Shanghai theme when it was colonized by England in the 1920s. You could say that the design is semi-casual.
Mama San itself is divided into two parts, namely the upstairs in the form of the lounge and the downstairs which is the kitchen. You can see the painting “Mama San” which is displayed behind the restaurant and the leather sofa adds a masculine feel. This unique design makes visitors feel comfortable in this place.
If you want to experience the delights of the food at Mama San Bali, you have to be at downstairs. But if you just want to order a drink while relaxing, you can go upstairs. The capacity of this restaurant can cover about 80 people.
Menu at Mama San Restaurant
If you come on Sundays, you can order a special menu that is only made special on Sundays. The special menu is dim sum. For culinary lovers, especially Chinese dishes, this menu will spoil you. Dim sum is served in a small, bite-size, and served in a bamboo steamer so that it can be eaten warm.
In China, Dim Sum is usually served with a glass of tea namely yum cha. There are many variants of the dim sum menu at Mama San so you can choose which one suits your taste. One of the dim sum menus is lamb & pumpkin with potstickers chili oil & black vinegar at a price of around Rp. 68,000. This Lamb & pumpkin with potsticker is a combination of soft and crunchy dumpling skin, even if the filling is savory, especially when eaten with a condiment, makes this food even more varied in taste.
There is also a hakau but at Mama San, it is named Steam Prawn Hargow at a price of IDR 60,000 which has a bitesize size. It has thin and soft skin with fresh shrimp filling. School of prawns with chili garlic & lime for Rp. 70,000 also has crunchy shrimp and a combination of spicy salty flavors.
Or you can try the crispy pork bean curd triangles for Rp. 68,000 which is a bean curd filled with fried pork. Crispy saltbush lamb ribs with ginger coriander lemon segments & pomegranate sauce for Rp. 120,000 also can not be missed. This lamb ribs has a spicy taste and a sour sensation from pomegranate sauce. The meat on the ribs is also soft so it's delicious to eat.
The average price of a drink at Mama San is IDR 98,000. In general, Mama San's food prices start from IDR 40,000 to IDR 120,000. This place is suitable for hanging out with friends while enjoying drinks and snacks. The atmosphere here is so calm and comfortable with music, not music performances.
